Pori Moni: Bangladesh's Rising Star
In response to inquiries about the change in her birthday plans, Pori Moni explained to Prothom Alo on a Monday afternoon, "My birthday has always held a special place in my heart. It's a day of joy and celebration for me, a tradition I cherish, cutting the birthday cake with my beloved Nana, my maternal grandfather. My parents and guardian are epitomized by Nana, who unfortunately is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital following minor surgery. He has been in the hospital for the past 11 days."
"My birthday falls on a Tuesday, and regrettably, it appears that Nana won't have recovered sufficiently to join in the grand celebration. As a result, I have decided to forgo an elaborate birthday party this year. I might opt for a private cake-cutting ceremony at home and on the shooting set. My intention is to share this joyous occasion with everyone once Nana returns from the hospital," she added.
Pori Moni, who now has a one-year-and-one-month-old son named Rajyo, has resumed her shooting schedule with Rajyo by her side. Her return to work raised concerns initially, as she feared that her son might find it distressing when she was away during shoots.
Pori Moni's Journey from Modeling to Acting
To her delight, Rajyo has adapted remarkably well to the shooting environment and has discovered more playmates on set than at home. He has a particular fondness for playing football and is presented with a new ball from the director each day, a source of great delight for him.
Reflecting on her observations of Rajyo, Pori Moni remarked, "I've noticed that Rajyo seems to absorb everything I say. When I look at him, it feels as if he has matured emotionally and understands his mother. I apply cream to his legs each night before bedtime, and he has picked up on the routine."
She continued, "Not long ago, he spontaneously began mimicking how I apply the cream to my legs, and he persisted for nearly 20 minutes. Today, during shooting, I introduced Rajyo to rain for the very first time, and he reached out to touch the raindrops, thoroughly relishing the experience."
For Pori Moni, Rajyo is the center of her world, and her affection for him knows no bounds. She expressed the depth of her feelings, saying, "With my son beside me, I no longer have any worries. When he touches me and showers me with kisses on my eyes and cheeks, there are no words to convey the emotion."
Pori Moni's Impact on the Bangladeshi Film Industry
Pori Moni is dedicated to embarking on a fresh chapter in her life, sharing that she currently weighs 58 kilograms, a weight that aligns with the character she will portray in 'Dodor Golpo.' She intends to shed an additional six kilograms in the future and is diligently preparing for it. Pori Moni emphasized, "I have no more setbacks. My son, Nana, and my work—these three elements define my life now."
She commented on the transformation in her life, noting, "Life has become more serene and comfortable for me. There's no longer chaos. I have Rajyo and Nana with me, and that's all I need. Before, there was no certainty in my daily routine, from bedtime to waking up in the morning. I used to spend significant time on social media at night, disturbing my sleep pattern. Now, I limit my social media use to just five minutes every night."
She concluded by saying, "I fall asleep as soon as I lie down and enjoy uninterrupted sleep. If I have a shooting call at 7:00 a.m., I wake up at 5:00 a.m. After getting everything ready for my son, I leave home promptly. Sometimes, I can't help but think that I'm an entirely new Pori Moni.
